| SPRINGSIDE self catering
holiday cottage, Whippingham, Isle of Wight, selected as one of the few BEST HOLIDAY COTTAGES on the Isle of Wight for inclusion in the prestigious Best Of Britain Guide. If you are looking for a quality holiday cottage set in beautiful gardens with a lovely heated swimming pool, then Springside is the ideal. Built for Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in the 1840s, to accommodate some of their staff, the cottage has recently been extensively restored and sympathetically modernised to provide a perfect well equipped holiday cottage. Springside is situated in the village of Whippingham, famous for its church designed by Prince Albert, and regularly attended by the Royal Family when in residence at Osborne House, just a mile away. The cottage is close to country and riverside walks, and within two miles of Cowes, the world famous yachting centre, and three miles from the Isle of Wight County town of Newport. Visit the many Island attractions, enjoy the sandy beaches, walk the downs, or just relax in the garden and swim in the pool. The pool may at times be shared with our adjacent cottage, “Woodpeckers”. Garden furniture is provided and there is an alfresco dining area beneath the private pergola. Springside overlooks fields and woods, and the south facing garden is a real sun-trap, and is visited by a variety of wildlife including red squirrels and a family of pheasants. You are asked to respect the wildlife, they live here too! There is ample private parking for two cars adjacent to the cottage.  Smoking
is not permitted in the cottage. 
We are not able to accept pets, but pets arewelcome, by prior arrangement at our other property Woodpeckers. |
